Hello, you download your game update - which is a .pkg file.
You go to this website, [HIDE] http://www.ps3pkg.de.vu/ [/HIDE]

Then you type in your game ID code, and download the file, or alternatively you can search google for the latest update, or by downloading with the Game Update manager program.

After you download the .pkg file, you need to put the file on the root of your usb, not in any folder, then plug usb into ps3, and install through "install package files" in the game xmb menu. Only if you have a working jailbroken PS3 with CFW.

solved

Kind of I was unaware that this only worked on jailbroken consoles, unfortunately my PS3 console is stock standard.
