Odds are you can use the nitro code and find the memory location of nitros, and near nitros should be your current speed. Odds are crashing takes your current speed into account for the crash, so you could do a break on read of your speed when you collide into something and see if you can find something to prevent crashes from triggering. I was too lazy for that at the time, had to move onto another game.
