Alright so I created this thread about 3 months ago on a different forum and thought it would be a good idea to post here since it's HQ and has a lot to learn from it.

The point of this thread is to provide y'all with correct statements, history, and in return y'all provide us with questions. Now there is a huge difference between Army, Navy, Air Force, And The Marine Corps. Now The Air Force is a Department of the Army and the Marine Corps is a Department of the Navy. Although Marines don't like to be called a Department of the Navy and like to be considered a branch of their own. The Army has their own slogan or "Battle Cry" as does The Marine Corps, Navy, and the Air Force. We do have active and retired service members on this website and they could also help you out if we do not have the answer.

Army(Ground Pounders) History/Ranks:
From its formation in 1775, the United States Army has been the primary land based portion of the United States military. The Army's primary responsibility has been the fighting of land battles and military occupation. The Corps of Engineers has a major role in controlling rivers. It was founded in response to a need for professional soldiery in the American Revolutionary War in order to fight the invading British Army. The Army was quite small in peacetime down to the 1940s. The Air Force became practically independent in World War II, and completely so in 1947. The Army was under the control of the War Department until 1947, and the Defense Department since then.

The ranks that will be shown below go from Enlisted(E) all the way up to Officer(O).

The ACU other wise known as the Army Combat Uniform, Fatigues, or simply "Army Uniform".

The Army Class A's:

Army Motto:
There's Strong and then there's Army Strong

Army "Battle cry":
Hooah (Heard Understood Acknowledged)

Pronounced:
"Who-Ah"

Army JROTC:
The United States Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) came into being with the passage of the National Defense Act of 1916. Under the provisions of the Act, high schools were authorized the loan of federal military equipment and the assignment of active duty military personnel as instructors. In 1964, the Vitalization Act opened JROTC up to the other services and replaced most of the active duty instructors with retirees who worked for and were cost shared by the schools.

Title 10 of the U.S. Code declares that "the purpose of Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the value of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment."

Army JROTC Class B:

Navy JROTC Class A and B:

AirForce JROTC Class A and B:

Marine Corps Jrotc Class A and B:

Navy(Swabbies) History/Ranks:

The United States Navy claims 13 October 1775 as the date of its official establishment, when the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution creating the Continental Navy. With the end of the American Revolutionary War, the Continental Navy was disbanded. Under President George Washington threats to American merchant shipping by pirates in the Mediterranean led to the Naval Act of 1794, which created a permanent standing U.S. Navy.

Navy Motto:
"Non sibi sed patriae" (Not self but country) or "A Global Force For Good".

Navy "Battlecry":
Hooyah

Pronounced:
"Who-Yah"

Air Force(Chair Force) History/Ranks:

The United States Air Force became a separate military service on September 18, 1947, with the implementation of the National Security Act of 1947. The Act created the National Military Establishment, later renamed the United States Department Of Defense, which was composed of three branches, the Army, Navy and a newly created Air Force. Prior to 1947, the responsibility for military aviation was divided between the Army (for land-based operations) and the Navy, for sea-based operations from aircraft carrier and amphibious aircraft. The Army created the first antecedent of the Air Force in 1907, which through a succession of changes of organization, titles, and missions advanced toward eventual separation 40 years later.

Air Force Motto:
"Aim High ... Fly-Fight-Win"

Air Force "Battle Cry":
Hooah (Heard Understood Acknowledged)

Pronounced:
"Who-ah"

Marine Corps(Devil Dogs or Jarheads) history/ranks:
Begins with the founding of the Continental Marines on 10 November 1775 to conduct ship-to-ship fighting, provide shipboard security and discipline enforcement, and assist in landing forces. Its mission evolved with changing military doctrine and foreign policy of the United States. Owing to the availability of Marine forces at sea, the United States Marine Corps has served in nearly every conflict in United States history. It attained prominence when its theories and practice of amphibious warfare proved prescient, and ultimately formed a cornerstone of the Pacific Theater of World War II. By the early 20th century, the Marine Corps would become one of the dominant theorists and practitioners of amphibious warfare. Its ability to rapidly respond on short notice to expeditionary crises has made and continues to make it an important tool for American foreign policy.

Okay so i'm getting questions about my name and this is where it comes in. "Teufel Hunden". As you saw besides every name "Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines", There's a nickname besides it. "Devil Dog" is the Marines.

"The term "Devil Dog" has its origins at Belleau Wood. It was in a dispatch from the German front lines to their higher headquarters explaining the current battle conditions that described the fighting abilities of the new, fresh Americans as fighting like "Teufel Hunden" or "Hounds from Hell."

Marine Corps Motto:
The Few, The Proud, The Marines. or "Semper Fi(Always Faithful)"

Marines "Battle cry":
Oorah

Pronounced:

The following picture(s) may offend you, It is not intended to do so. It's a joke Marines make. All branches make fun of every other branch. I respect every branch and do not intend to offend anyone. However, If any of them do, Please PM me and tell me which one offends you, I will delete it.
