Alright, so I was just trying to sleep when my best friend messaged me asking for some help, I'm feeling ill as hell right now so I left my phone and decided to wait till morning to see what he needed. He then spammed me, so I got up and was like, "this must be urgent."
He's been my best friend for around 14-15 years now so I have his back and he has mine. Anyway to get to the point. He has been in a relationship for the past 3 years, so as you could tell it's pretty serious. However he's made one fucking mistake. In a moment of stupidity he sent a picture of y'know to a girl. Obviously he was thinking with his dick and not his head, don't lie lads, we've all done it at some point. But now this girl has told him, he either tells his girlfriend, or she does. Immediately I told him to change my name in his contacts to his girlfriends name and we'd speak as though it was the real deal, therefore to get the other girl off his back and to make his girlfriend none the wiser. It seemed pretty convincing until his girlfriend messaged me asking what was going on as he was acting "weird". So now I'm playing on two fronts. I'm pretending to be her, whilst also telling her nothing is going on, although she knows something is up for sure. I'm caught up in a shit ton of different lies now and I feel so bad for her.
I feel as though I should come out and tell her, as I hate lying especially when it's something as serious as this, I feel so bad because she's done nothing but be good to him. But obviously at the same time he's my best mate has been for so long and I know for a fact we'd no longer be friends if I told her.
I'm in such a shit position, I wish he never asked for my help because now I look like one of the bad guys in all of this. Shit. Did I do the right thing?
