I would think it is a good idea to have all Award request and all Staff Application threads changed to Staff view only. In these threads the Staff can collaborate on whether or not the person deserves what they are applying for, and so they do not get to see what Staff says in the threads. This is to help prevent users from either bumping the thread with unnecessary posts, likes, and to protect the Staff's words in the thread about that specific user.

It's been that way from the get-go, no other member than view another members thread in those sub-forums

I think it's necessary to let the member at least view their requests and postings made.
This would help the member in knowing where they messed up and can improve on next time, to gaining their accomplishment.
Wasn't even aware we had to request till just now, thought it was automatic.

No it hasn't though. Proof by this thread...

As you can see, Legless was part of the conversation. Although, he is not Staff.
Maybe Staff Applications has been viewable by staff only, but I though I saw people commenting on one before.

We will tell the user posting the thread the reason he/she was denied and how to go about trying to achieve it from there. There is no reason for a member to see what the Staff says about the applying user, though.
